Dare to Be!

Els Sprenkeling plus size style

Els Sprenkeling is our second gorgeous reader who dares to share her style. Els is a 43-year old (are you lying to us Els?) graphic designer from the Netherlands. Her passion for fashion has driven her to start an amazing blog: XLFashionFile.

Els writes:

“Hi! I’m Els, 43, living in the Netherlands and loving life. I work as a graphic designer, fashion stylist and plussize blogger. I started my blog www.xlfashionfile.com to inspire other plussize women how to dress and to not be afraid to wear color, print or stand out.
My best advice to women is to start at the beginning: wear underwear that fits properly. A good bra will make your waist look slimmer. I think we plussize women do not have to hide ourselves. Let your personality show! Dare to be! Show yourself because you are beautiful.”

We particularly love the way that Els boldly wears prints. What do you think of her style? Please tell us in the comments section, below.

Wow! Wonderful, a big woman who is proud of herself and is not trying to hide in drab colours and shapeless tents!

She looks great! It’s very nice to see a big woman who isn’t hiding away in shame, but instead shows the world she is also beautiful :)

I think Els looks stunning – a lot of women are scared of color and print but she really knows how to rock it!! Her hair is amazing too. I love her style and completely agree with her comment about underwear!

Totally agree. We have been banging the ‘right bra’ drum for over a decade now! x

From all three, I love the first choice as the black tights with the black shoes elongates her legs and her 40s makeup looks perfect…
However, my favourite dress is the second one… I would love to see it with nude tights… Elegance is never about body types. It is about dressing up your body the best way.. Susannah and Trinny’s show has taught us how. I am happy to see it in action… :)

She looks 30! Wow. I especially like look #2, the floral dress. It’s a fun and whimsical print and shows that anyone can look great in bright colors and bold patterns. Lovely!

I just LOVE this woman and her style..I’m a curvy woman like her and she gives me inspiration on how to dress more boldly and get out of my usual blacks, browns and greys..Thanks a lot <3

I just want to thank you for your inspiring program, as well as Els positive and confident given blog. Three kids, adhd and a rare condition called Chiari Malformation has totally swept my confidence away and left me with a really difficult owerweight to hide behind clothes. But watching You lovely ladies has at least given me some ideas of which figure I am, and how to add accessories that will distract people when they look at me. Its a new start, and maybe a way to find my confidence while Im hunting for inspiration. XOXO KRAM!

Beautiful face hair skin and eyes. She has a great sense of fun in dressing. The american website her room.com has the best bra fitting guide I’ve seen online.

What a stunning lady! I cannot believe her age, she looks so much younger :)
I think at least half of Finnish women could use some advise to dress as well as she does…
